Two names on every build

C2 Construction is run by its two founders, a husband and wife whose initials give the company its name. The mark is two C's cut square and joined - which is the plainest way of saying that both of them are accountable for what leaves site.

In practice it means the people quoting the job are the people answering for it. There is no account manager between you and a decision, and no version of this business where a problem on site is somebody else's department.

What we do

We convert thatch roofs to conventional tile and sheet roofing, install and repair thatch, build new homes, and run renovations and extensions. The four service lines share one team and one contract structure, which is the point: on a roof conversion the roofing, the structural work and the making good are the same job, and splitting them across contractors is where things go wrong.

Who we work for

Roughly half our work is for homeowners - a roof that has reached the end of its life, an insurer asking questions at renewal, a renovation that has been on the list for years. The other half is for HOAs, body corporates and commercial clients, where the same work happens at estate scale and has to be specified consistently across many units, phased around residents, and reported on to a board.

Both audiences want the same thing in the end: a scope they can read, a price that holds, and a contractor who is still answering the phone in month three.

How we run a job

Every project starts with a site inspection and a written scope. Where a conversion touches structure, a structural assessment and engineer sign-off form part of the work, along with plan submission where the local authority requires it. Variations get quoted and approved in writing before they are built - which is slower at the time and considerably faster than the argument that replaces it.

Most of our sites are occupied. Dust control, secure material storage and daily clean-down are part of the contract rather than a courtesy.

We work Gauteng-wide, across the full province rather than a handful of suburbs. If you are outside Gauteng, ask anyway - larger conversion programmes sometimes travel.
